3rd Annual In-house Pickleball Tournament:  August 11, 2018

The third annual In-house round robin tournament benefited the Vilas County Food Pantry. Members raised $481 in raffle sales, $51 cash donations, and 81 lbs non-perishable food supplies or the Vilas County Food Pantry. 
The winners of this year's tournament were: 
  • Women’s 2.5 to 3.0: First, Georgi Starz; Second, Karen Young, Third, Terrie Radzis and Chris Roberts (tie)
  • Women’s 3.0 to 3.5: First, Carol Suriano; Second, Susan Colton; Third, Barbara Helmick
  • Men’s 3.0: First, Don Osterberg; Second, Tim James and Stew Sonnenberg (tie); Third, Louie Penpek 
  • Men’s 3.5 +: First, Bruce Colton; Second, Ken Waggoner and Gene Nackers (tie); Third, Gary Carlton

2nd Annual In-house Pickleball Tournament:  June 24, 2017

The Eagle River Pickleball Association’s second annual in-house tournament benefited the Vilas County Food Pantry as many of the 42 participants in the event donated non-perishable food items or cash to help the organization. The club collected more than 70 pounds of food and $310 for the pantry during the tournament.

Participants played eight games in the round-robin competition. Winners were:
  • Blue Division – Sandie Hunt, first; Robert Polka, second; Liz Patric, third.
  • Orange division – Bob Fish, first; Tom Drymalski, second; Karl Athow, third.
  • Green division – Gary Carlton, first; Russ Groth, second; Tom Helmick, third.
  • Red division – Sue Polka, first; Dee Drymalski and Lenora Scarsi, tied for second.
  • Yellow division – Neal West, first; Craig Skolrood, second; Louis Penpek, third.
  • Pink division – Kathy Mitchell, first; Anne Pauls, second; Ginny Leith, third.

Eagle River Pickleball Tournament: August 27, 2016

The Eagle River Pickleball Association held its first pickleball tournament on Saturday, August. 27, at the Riverview Park courts. Forty people participated in five divisions: Advanced (1), Intermediate (3), Novice (1).  Winners in each division are shown below the slideshow which includes photos from throughout the tournament. Congrats to all the winners and to everyone who participated.
ADVANCED: Tom Helmick, second; Nick Isaacs and Gary Carlton, tied for first; Al Grulke, third.
INTERMEDIATE: Clarese Espy & Charlotte Hamilton, tied for third; Lenora Scarsi, second; Tim James, first.
INTERMEDIATE: Mak Holcomb, third; Jeff Cederna & Jim Cederna, tied for first; Perry Gillis, second.
INTERMEDIATE: Melody West, third; Maximilian Page, first; Barbara Helmick, second.
NOVICE: Judi Keenan, third; Ken Waggoner, first; Kathy Mitchell, second.
